Willie Laura Kimbrell, 78, of 800 East Smith Street, Buchanan, Michigan, passed away at 1:45 a.m. Friday, December 4, 2009, in Lakeland Specialty Hopital, Berrien Center, Michigan, of natural causes. She was born on January 31, 1931, in Guain, Alabama, to the late Glen and Zora Lockhart. On January 29, 1953, in Chicago, IL, she married Westley Kimbrell, who preceded her in death. Willie leaves behind to cherish her memory four sons, Dan (Debbie) Kimbrell of Edwardsburg, Kim (Donna) Kimbrell of Niles, David (Helen) Kimbrell of Buchanan and Guy (Susan) Kimbrell of Buchanan; daughters, Mary (Vic) Backus of Niles, Sue (Steve) Gurley of Buchanan and Patricia Kimbrell of Valparaiso; and sisters, Gurley Lockhart, Glenden Spana and Linden Upton; 24 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at noon Tuesday, December 8, 2009, in the Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan, MI, with Rev. Alfred Deeds of Bethel Apostolic Tabernacle officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services in the funeral home. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan.
