Donald Lee Bowker Sr., 67, died at 10:14 a.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2010, in Lakeland Community Hospital, Niles, of natural causes. He was born January 24, 1943 in Buchanan, to the late William Henry and Susie Pearl Bowker. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Bowker and sister, Beverly Miller. He was a lifetime area resident. He retired from Delta Machining and worked at Clark Equipment Co. On June 22, 1963 in Buchanan, MI he married Mary Bowker who survives in Niles. Also surviving are sons, Donald Bowker Jr. of Pueblo, CO, Timothy Scott Bowker of Niles, MI and Gary Allen Bowker of Danville, VA; stepson, Bill Payton of Statesville, NC; daughter, Laura Ann Bowker-Tidball of Topping, VA; brothers, William (Marjorie) Bowker of Galien and Phillip (Alice) Bowker of Buchanan; sister-in-law, Theresa Bowker of Buchanan; stepmother, Marge Bowker of Niles; 10 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2010 in Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan, with Pastor Paul Deeds of Bethel Apostolic Tabernacle, Buchanan, MI officiating. Burial will be at Galien Cemetery, Galien, MI. Friends may call two hours before services in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Leukemia Foundation.
