Stanley Dalka Jr., 84, New Troy died at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010, at home of natural causes. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family. Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Dalka was born March 12, 1926, in South Bend, Ind., and lived here since 1969, coming from Gary, Ind. Stanley proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of New Troy American Legion Post 518. He retired from Bethlehem Steel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Anna Dalka; son, Stanley Joseph Dalka; and a grandson, Jeremy Dalka. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline (Adams) Dalka, whom he married on Sept. 28, 1962, in Gary. Also surviving are sons Dana Stanley Dalka and Shannon (Holly) Dalka; daughters, Linda (Brian) ONeal, Debbie (Tod) Mantei and Theresa (Brian) Priest; grandchildren, Justin (Mary) Mantei, Tara (Josh) Brooks, Tristan (Cody) Allee, Tyler Mantei, Samantha Dalka, Douglas Narragon, Abby Luther, Jason Dalka, Breanna Dalka and Brian ONeal; great-grandchildren, Tiffany Mashek, Anthony Chisolm, Braiden Brooks, Kynzi Brooks and Harlow Allee; brothers, Robert Dalka and Phillip (Lena) Lobsing; and a sister, Shiela Schmidt.
