Wendell E. Hall - age: 84
( March 22, 1926 to April 10, 2010 ) Buchanan, MI Wendell E. Hall, 84, of Buchanan, died Saturday afternoon, April 10, 2010, in the Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph, after a lengthy struggle with emphysema. He is survived by his wife, Betty; his dearly beloved daughters, Wende Hall (Robert) Lynn of Norcross, GA, and Diana Hall (Fernando) Flores of Tomball, TX. He will be terribly missed by his four beloved granddaughters, Tyler Svetich of Auburn, AL, Mary-Al Svetich of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Francesca and Danielle Flores of Tomball, TX. Also surviving is his beloved sister, RosaLee Fish of Venice, FL. Wendell was born in Buchanan, graduated from Buchanan High School, served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and the Korean War. He retired from the insurance industry and moved to Florida for eight years where he played loads of golf until the onset of his illness. He moved back to his hometown 5 1/2 years ago. He belonged to the USS Wisconsin Association, The Buchanan American Legion Post 51, The Buchanan Moose Lodge 449 and the Buchanan Masonic Lodge 68. He was formerly very active with the Berrien County Republican Party. Cremation has taken place. There will be no services. A family committal service will take place at a later date. The family wishes to thank the Buchanan Police Department - two fine officers responded immediately and worked so hard trying to save him. Memorial contributions may be made to the Buchanan Senior Center Building Fund, 131 S. Oak Street, Buchanan, MI 49107; or to any animal shelter. Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan, is handling arrangements for the family. |
