Barbara James, 49, of 1992 Baldwin Drive, Niles died Sunday, April 11, 2010 at home of natural causes. She was born July 27, 1960 in Muncie, Ind. She lived here since 1970. She was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Niles and active in Relay for Life. She was a surgery technician. Barbara is survived by her mother, Corrine Jackson, of Niles; son, Denzel James, of Niles; daughters, Thaliah James, of South Bend and Vanessa James, of Niles; brothers, R.C. Moore, of South Bend, Roosevelt Moore, of South Bend and Willie Moore, of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; stepbrothers, Jessie Kates, of Lansing, Napoleon Kates, of Minnesota and Michael Kates, of Minnesota; stepsisters, Linda Caldwell, of Indianapolis and Georgia Mack, of Santa Ana, Calif.; and three grandchildren. Services will be held at noon Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Niles with the Rev. Fletcher McAfee officiating. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 17 at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church.
