Dorothy Lillian Wallace, 87, of 4293 E. River Road, Buchanan, MI, passed away of natural causes at 1:50 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2010, in Lakeland Community Hospital, Niles, MI. She was born on May 4, 1922, in Berrien Springs, MI, to the late Floyd and Inza Dunifin, and was a lifetime area resident. On August 11, 1940, in Buchanan, MI, Dorothy married George Wallace Jr., who preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 2005. Dorothy worked for Schneiders Vending and was involved with the Buchanan High School Cafeteria. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Ray (Beverly) Wallace, Three Rivers, MI; daughters, Shirley Ann (Euthel) Wilson, Niles, MI, and Barbara Phelps, Niles, MI; grandchildren, Todd Wallace, Scott Wallace, Theresa Pelk, Karen Paton; great-grandchildren, Brad, Kory Colin, Walter, William, Kerri, Sky, Autumn and Dawn; brothers, Bob Dunifin of Niles, MI, and Edward Dunifin of Cassopolis, MI; and a sister, Bernice Black of Mishawaka, IN. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 23, in the Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan, MI, where friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, April 22. Pastor Sean Kidd of Buchanan Christian Church, Buchanan, will officiate services. Burial will be at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Niles, MI. Hoven Funeral Home, 414 E. Front Street, Buchanan, MI 49107, is assisting the family with arrangements.
