Russell W. Orrick, 71, of 61843 Anderson Rd., Dowagiac died at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2010 at Battle Creek Health System, Battle Creek of natural causes. He was born Oct. 20, 1938 in Niles. He was a lifetime resident of Cass County. He was a United States Navy veteran; past member of the American Legion, Niles; and a member of The Lord’s House Church, Cassopolis. Russell was a professional truck driver. He married Evelyn (Tittle) Orrick on March 4, 1972 in Goshen, Ind. Russell is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of Dowagiac; sons, Cecil Orrick, of California, Jason (Kristy) Orrick, of Masfield, Ohio; daughters, Wilma Orrick, of California, Brenda (Tom) Proterfield, of Red Bluff, Calif. and Shannon (Ed) Harris, of Niles; stepdaughters, Tanya Webster, of Niles, Suzanne (Tim) Parchman, of Niles and Shelly Elrod, of Niles; sisters, Alice Ferris, of Niles and M ozelle Nelson, of Niles; 23 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Russell Orrick Jr.; two brothers, Cecil and Joseph Orrick; and sister Frances Orrick. Burial will be at Prospect Hills, Cassopolis. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan. Memorials may be made to the family.
