New Troy – Brian K. Thompson, beloved son of Karen S. Thompson and Delmar L. Thompson, cherished brother of Lana (Daniel) Lyman; adored uncle of Melanie, Jessica, Grace, Claire and Mary Lyman. Mr. Thompson passed away April 26, 2010 at his home in Michigan. Born in St. Joseph, Michigan, Mr. Thompson graduated from River Valley High School in 1981. He attended Lake Michigan College, majoring in Business Administration, before opening his own clothing business: B. Thompson & Co. in Benton Harbor, MI. Mr. Thompson continued his career in the city of Chicago, Illinois, selling Mercedes-Benz products and real estate for over 21 years. His beloved mother, Karen Thompson, preceded him in death nine months earlier. Mr. Thompson’s sense of humor and quick wit was a source of inspiration for all who knew him. He touched many lives by his kind and loving nature, a light that was extinguished much too soon. A celebration of Brian’s life will be held at 11am, Friday, April 30, 2010 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Sawyer. Friends may call one hour before services at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lakeland Hospice, Berrien County Humane Society, American Cancer Society and St. Agnes Catholic Church. Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan, is handling arrangements for the family.
