Billy A. Dean, 71, of Baroda, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, May 22, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Dean was born Jan. 30, 1939, in Longview, Texas, to John and Margaret Dean. Bill had a wonderful sense of humor and never met a stranger. He was liked by everyone. He had a heart transplant July 10, 1989, at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. He fought a long, difficult and brave battle to the end. He is survived by his wife, Hope, whom he married Aug. 12, 1995; sons – Bryan A. (Mavy) Dean, Barry A. (Tracy) Dean and Brett A. Dean; stepson, Arthur A. Hora II; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and half-brothers Jeff (Vivian) Nelson and James (Marilyn) Dean. A memorial service will be held at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Stevensville, at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 26. Cremation will take place and interment will be in Longview, Texas, at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Stevensville.
