Honorene Catherine Hojara, 89, of Niles died at 7:20 a.m. Monday, June 28, 2010 at Silverbrook Manor, Niles of natural causes. She was born Sept. 22, 1920 in Mishawaka. She was a lifetime area resident. Honorene was a homemaker and worked at Green Giant in Niles. She married Ervin Hojara on March 2, 1939 in Buchanan. He died Nov. 28, 1995. She is survived by a son, Terry (Carol) Hojara, of Niles; a daughter, Pat Marlin, of Niles; two brothers, Carl Thurston, of Aberdeen, S.D. and Ralph Thurston, of Watervliet; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Private family services will be held Wednesday at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan with the Rev. Leonard Bailey of Church of the Nazarene, Buchanan officiating. Burial will be at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Niles. Memorials may be made to the donors choice.
