Dennis Jay Stowe peacefully went to be with the Lord on July 3, 2010, at his home in Benton Harbor. He was preceded in death by his father, James Stowe; mother, Vivian Franks Stowe; and sister, Janie Stowe Pillow. He is survived by his loving wife, Robyne Sisson Stowe; two children - daughter, Denise Stowe and son, Kurtis Stowe; brother-in-law, Bud Pillow; three nieces - Kimberly Grenon, Kelly Green and Kristin Nitz; one aunt, Edith Franks Lechenet, and many cousins. Dennis was born on Aug. 21, 1950, in Watervliet. He married Robyne Sisson on July 10, 1971. He worked at the House of David in his younger years. He was also a maintenance engineer at the Ramada Inn and Comfort Inn hotels and security guard at Atlantic Automotive in Benton Harbor before he became disabled in 2001. Dennis was a 10-year cancer survivor. Dennis had a wonderful sense of humor; he would always make you laugh. He loved NASCAR, feeding his birds, riding his motorcycle, collecting bobblehead dolls, the outdoors, and he was an avid fisherman and pool player. He was a member of Yore Community Church in Benton Harbor, where he was also a greeter. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Aug. 7, 2010, with the Rev. Jim Dunn officiating. Cremation has taken place, and burial will take place at a later date. Donations can be made to Yore Community Church, Benton Harbor, in lieu of flowers.
